MicroVal Symposium The first certificate
European validation and certification alternative methods
Experiences and points of view of stakeholders

MicroVal is a European certification organisation for the validation and approval of alternative methods for the microbiological analysis of food and beverages. MicroVal validates and certifies alternative methods in order to show that such proprietary methods perform equally well as internationally standardised methods.

MicroVal has entered an important phase, if not the most important one. This year the MicroVal organisation has become operational. The first certificate will be expected soon.

The MicroVal Expert Laboratory 'Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association' (CCFRA) from the UK is responsible for the validation procedure of the testkit. The overall coordination and certification is handled by the MicroVal Certification Body (MCB) Lloyd's Register QA from Rotterdam the Netherlands.

The MicroVal symposium in which this first certificate will be handed out will be held Tuesday 20 March 2007. At this symposium the experiences and points of view of the stakeholders will be discussed and examined from their respective views.

Who should attend?

This symposium offers an opportunity to share ideas and an excellent way to network providing a reference source for anyone interested in the validation and certification of alternative microbiological test kits and methods. Stakeholders are authorities, manufacturers, laboratories, food industry, inspection, control, etc.
