General
The 3rd International MicroVal Symposium 'Five years of validations: past and future' provides an excellent forum to learn about the latest developments regarding microbiological method validation based on EN-ISO 16140:2003 for food safety testing. The purpose of the International MicroVal Symposium is to provide method developers and suppliers, and food safety professionals worldwide with a forum to exchange information. We invite you to join us to network and to learn from the experts in the field.
The standard EN-ISO 16140:2003 describes the process for the validation of alternative (usually proprietary) microbiological methods for food safety testing. European Community legislation demands from microbiological method developers for food safety testing that their methods are validated in accordance with EN-ISO 16140:2003.
MicroVal was established by stakeholders from different groups. It is a not-for-profit international platform organization for independent validation studies and certification of alternative microbiological methods complying with EN-ISO 16140:2003.
The first MicroVal validation studies started in 2007.That means that we experience our first lustrum in 2012. MicroVal, its clients and expert laboratories will share their experiences with you. We will have an outlook at the future on how to use these experiences for expanding validation studies into other directions to serve our current and future clients in supporting them by removing trade barriers. We are looking forward to your opinion as MicroVal stakeholders.
